Danville General Plan Discussion Continues

Planning Commission meetings in Jan/Feb to continue dialogue

More meetings have been scheduled for the Town of Danville Planning Commission to continue discussions of the draft 2030 General Plan Update.

In early December, Town residents were notified by postcard that the Planning Commission would complete their review of the Draft General Plan in January, with the Danville Town Council beginning their review of the Draft Plan at their February 5, 2013 meeting. However, due to the amount of citizen input the Town has received, the Planning Commission will require additional time to continue their review.

“We are committed to listening to what our citizens have to say throughout this process,” said Town Manager Joe Calabrigo.  “The Planning Commission will need more time to fully consider what we’ve heard and complete their review of the Draft Plan”.

The Planning Commission will discuss the Draft 2030 General Plan Update at their Jan. 22, 2013 and Feb. 12, 2013 meetings.   Town Council hearing dates will be scheduled once the Commission completes their review.

The Town will be putting out information on the scheduled meetings as the information becomes available. Residents can sign up for e-mail alerts on the General Plan, examine the meeting schedule and read the plan itself on the new General Plan website, www.danvillegeneralplan.com. As meetings are scheduled, they will be posted on the website, sent out through e-news and on the Town’s social media channels.
