Suspect Arrested for Hitting, Blocking People on Iron Horse Trail

East Bay Regional Park District police arrested a man in Alamo Wednesday afternoon on suspicion of false imprisonment, misdemeanor battery and assault upon pedestrians on the Iron Horse Trail.

The incident was first reported to Park District police at 1:50 p.m. Police received several reports that a man was riding his bicycle on the popular pedestrian trail in the Danville and Alamo area and randomly hitting and blocking people. There are three confirmed victims and possibly two more, one of whom may be a juvenile.

Contra Costa sheriff’s deputies apprehended the suspect  at 2:45 p.m. near Ridgewood Road in Alamo and Park District police took him into custody shortly thereafter. He was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.
