Concord presents Zydeco Flames

The City of Concord presents 25th Annual Thursday Evening “Music and Market Seriesâ€
The Zydeco Flames have gained a reputation as the West Coast’s premiere Zydeco band. The Flames consistently pack the house in venues ranging from contemporary clubs to major festivals and traditional dance halls.
Their sizzling roots rhythms are timeless and the execution of them relentless, with a stunningly powerful groove. The Flames’ sixth CD release “Fire It Up”, featuring Andre Thierry and Billy Wilson on accordion, provides fans with hot Zydeco in the tradition of masters like Clifton Chenier, Buckwheat Zydeco and Queen Ida.
In its 25th season, running May through September, Concord’s Music and Market Series is one of the Bay Area’s most vibrant, eclectic and popular civic live music scenes, drawing thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds throughout the region to Todos Santos Plaza where concert goers enjoy great music, the fabulous Pacific Coast Farmers’ Market and each other.
Note that many of the concerts are broadcast live (as well as rebroadcast) over Concord TV on Comcast channel 28, Astound channel 29 and U-Verse channel 99. See the schedule at http://www.ci.concord.ca.us/about/citynews/tvlistings.pdf
Efforts continue to find a sustaining funding source for downtown Concord’s music program. Thanks to: Concord Disposal Service, Chevron, Pacific Service Credit Union, Dolan’s Lumber, Tesoro, Humana, Cole Printing & Marketing, Pacific Coast Farmers’ Market, Brenden Mann Foundation and all the businesses and citizens who have graciously sent in donations to “Save Our Series”. (More information at http://concordfirst.org/)
