Danville conversation on banning plastic bags

July 9, 2014 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Proposed California State Legislation (SB270) would prohibit food stores and certain retail establishments from providing single-use carryout plastic bags. As many are aware, several of our neighboring communities have already passed similar legislation.

The Danville Town Council is considering a local ordinance that would coincide with the proposed state legislation to extend the ban to all retailers and public eating establishments not covered by SB270. The proposed ordinance would go in to effect in 2016.

There are 3 Information Sessions for merchants, residents and shoppers. PLEASE consider attending one of these important sessions. The Council WANTS to hear from you!
