Friends of the Poor Walk Fundraiser

On Saturday, September 27, St. Vincent de Paul will host an annual Friends of the Poor Walk fundraiser to benefit its Family Resource Center in Pittsburg, CA. This year, we have great participation from area youth supporting programs for the poor in our community!
Students from across the local area are getting together to help raise funds. Students from San Ramon Christian Academy are sending 20 sponsored students and are hosting bake sales to raise funds. Volunteers from Carondelet have organized teams of walkers and volunteers for the event.
Last year’s event included 65 walkers, and we expect more this year thanks to the enthusiasm of these outstanding young people. We welcome your coverage or participation in our event! It’s a great chance to meet young people who are enthusiastic about helping people in our local area. 100 percent of funds raised stay in Contra Costa County to help people where we live.
WHAT: St. Vincent de Paul Friends of the Poor Walk for Contra Costa County
HOW TO PARTICIPATE: Register at www.fopwalk.org and register for WALK #222, District Council Walk at St. Isidore Church
WHERE: St. Isidore Church, 440 La Gonda Way, Danville, CA at the Grass Field/Track, (behind the church parking lot)
WHO: Anyone is welcome to participate OR to go online and make a pledge to a walker, (non-walkers can be “virtual” walkers if they cannot attend)
WHY: To raise awareness of the programs in Contra Costa County which support the poor
