$12ACADEMY AWARD NOMINEE TO SHOW AT WALNUT CREEK LIBRARY
“Embrace of the Serpent” was nominated for Best Foreign Language film at this year’s Academy
Awards. It is the first Columbian movie to be considered for an Oscar. With beautiful black and white cinematography, it tells the story of a shaman, the last of his tribe, in the Amazon. It is based on journals kept by Amazonian explorers in the early 20th Century and tells the tale of a lost people. The film will be shown on Fri., Ap. 8; Sat., Ap. 9; and, Sat. Ap. 23 at 7:30 at the Walnut Creek Library located at 1644 N. Broadway, downtown Walnut Creek. The film won the International Confederation of Art Cinemas award at Cannes. Mountain Shadow is a non-profit, membership organization. $12 General Admission tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning at 7 PM.
