“A crush can make anyone feel young again,” said Helen Means, Onstage Theatre’s Artistic Director. She directs the company’s opener of their 39th season, “The Last Romance,” by Joe DiPietro, opening Sept. 16 and running through Oct. 1 at the Martinez Campbell Theatre.
According to Means, the play revolves around an 80-year-old widower (played by Bill Dietz) who breaks his ordinary routine by choosing to take a different path on his morning walk. There he encounters an elegant single Octogerian (played by Sheilah Morrison) and embarks a “fantastic love affair,” much to the chagrin of the man’s jealous sister (Lynne Elizondro Danville)
