Sing-Along Of ‘ The Sound Of Music ’

Flock Of Flutes To Perform Live Sing-Along Of ‘The Sound Of Music’
Walnut Creek — Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the ever-popular cinema sensation ‘The Sound of Music’ (1965) with an exciting live sing-along with Flock of Flutes, the East Bay’s premiere flute orchestra, on Saturday, March 28, 2 p.m. at the Lafayette Library (3491 Mt. Diablo Blvd.). The concert and sing-along are free and open to the public.
In addition to the movie score, the group will perform “Jungle Dance” by Will Offerman (soloist Cecilia Aires); “Suite in a Minor” by Telemann (soloists Taylor Lai, Cailee Abesemis, Charmae Zhang and Naomi Daniel); “Traffic Jam” by Richy Lombardo; “Aire” by Kocher, “Children of the Wind” by Catherine McMichael; and “A Little Norwegian Suite” by Edvard Grieg.
Flock of Flutes is the East Bay’s premiere all-flute orchestra, led by long-time director Monica Williams. Flock of Flutes features a talented ensemble of local flutists from middle-school through adult ages, all of whom have at least three years of experience playing and performing.
