San Ramon Valley Historical Society’s Summer Social

The annual San Ramon Valley Historical Society Picnic takes place on Sunday, August 2, 2015. Come share great food and learn about the Peder Thorup family that back in 1884 established “P. Thorup Boot and Shoe Manufacturing Shop” in San Ramon. His grandson, Lambert Wille of Danville joins us to tell the stories of this great Danish emigrant family who handmade shoes for people all over the San Ramon Valley for years. The picnic will occur at the Oak Hill Park Community Center from noon to 3 pm. out on Stone Valley Road. It is a good time to relax, catch up with friends, and take in a summer picnic.

Come one, come all! An afternoon of good friends, good fun and good food! There’s no better place for a good time among friends than the Historical Society’s Summer Social.  Join your friends from The Museum of the San Ramon Valley, The San Ramon Historic Foundation, and the Sand Ramon Valley Historical Society. Enjoy out speaker Grandson Lambert Willie, who will speak about the Peder Thorup Family.

This event will take place in Oak Hill Park next to Monte Vista High School, with lunch being provided by Lawrence Meats.
