Please join us on September 26 to learn about the great Street Smarts programs planned for the 2013–2014 school year, including:

• The 10th Annual Storybook Poster Contest for elementary school students
• The “Be Reel” Video Contest for middle school students
• The “It Happens” teen traffic safety campaign
• Traffic safety assemblies and bike rodeos

Mark Ballock, League Certified Instructor and local community leader, will share his personal and professional experience on the importance of wearing a proper bicycle helmet. Attendees will also get to see the winning traffic safety advertisements from last year’s high school campaign. These ads will appear throughout the school year on County Connection buses, in local online media, on San Ramon transit shelters, and on street banners.

STREET SMARTS is a traffic safety education program serving the San Ramon Valley. The program is a partnership between the San Ramon Valley Unified School District, the City of San Ramon, the Town of Danville, and the County of Contra Costa. Program sponsors include State Farm (“It Happens” program), Sunset Development (Storybook Poster Contest), and the San Ramon Valley Council of PTAs.
